“Why, Thank You, I Made it Myself” Jewelry

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make your own jewelry? Join Jody McQuillan and choose to make any (or all) of the following: a crimped beaded necklace, bracelet and earrings. Students will create at least one piece per class. Design, tools and techniques will be covered. Some materials will be provided, and others may be purchased in class. This second class with Jody McQuillan will include a mini review of crimping beads on a wire. We will then discuss the tools, wires and techniques needed for jewelry making. We will be working with wire to make a ring, 2 wire-wrapped pendants (one with and one without a hole), making a chain and pouring a few resin designs to be made into pendants. Wednesdays, Oct. 15, 22 and 29, 5:30-8 p.m.

Paint an outdoor barn quilt that will last. It can be used indoors as well. Wood is not used. Your barn quilt blank is ready to have your design applied. Choose from 48+ patterns and a rainbow of colors the day of class. Designs range from simple to complex. You will need to bring yellow Delicate FrogTape (1.41 width is best-it can be purchased at a hardware store), hairdryer and a heavy-duty extension cord.

American Sign Language Level I

Level I: This introductory class focuses on building a foundation in American Sign Language (ASL) vocabulary and grammar. Perfect for beginners, it provides the essential tools needed to start communicating in ASL.

These Classes teach (ASL) with a strong emphasis on deaf culture. Students will learn through immersive group conversations and interactions.

Mondays, September 15, 22, 29 and October 6, 6-8 p.m.

American Sign Language Level II

Level II: The advanced class reviews basic words, and quickly progresses to forming sentences and engaging in more complex communications. Ideal for those who have completed Level I or have some prior knowledge of American Sign Language.

These classes teach ASL with a strong emphasis on deaf culture. Students will learn through immersive group conversations and interactions.

Anxiety Workshop

This workshop is for kids in Grades 4 -6, that want to work on why we have anxiety and the tools that can be used to work through Anxiety.

Attachment: Does it Matter?

We develop a style of attachment that guides our relationships of all kinds. Learning how we connect with others helps us understand the struggles we face in our relationships and gives us hope for making our relationships better. In this class we will review the attachment styles and give strategies for improving relationships with family, friends and in your work.
