A Day in the Life of an EMT Student
This workshop is open only to high school educators.

Welcome to a day in the life of an EMT student. In this hands-on, immersive workshop, you will be the student practicing EMS skills, including patient assessment, bleeding control, and injury management. You will encounter various scenarios and provide care to simulated patients (manikins). Along with participating in a typical class day, we will review games and discuss the requirements, expectations, and challenges for EMT students.

Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that you feel comfortable moving around in.

Auto Body 101
This workshop is open only to high school educators.

In this workshop, we will discuss the need for autobody technicians and demonstrate entry-level skills that can be taught at the high school level. These include the basics of:
•    Polishing old finishes
•    Headlamp restoration
•    Minor plastic filler application
•    Applying primers and refinishing materials

Participants will work on a project they can take home as a token of our appreciation for their attendance.

Bringing College Psychology to the High School Classroom
This workshop is open only to high school educators.

We will explore ways to bring college psychology to the high school classroom. We will discuss activities, units, and Canvas usage. Other topics include: 
   Why students would benefit from an Intro to Psychology course
   The stigma of mental health
   How to help students navigate through online learning
   Examples of assignments your students could work on in class
   How to support diverse learners
   Frequently asked questions about Canvas
Time will also be set aside for questions and answers, and comments.

Canva 101: Graphic Design for High School Teachers
This workshop is open only to high school educators.

This is a hands-on summer workshop designed to help educators strengthen their visual communication skills and create engaging, professional-quality classroom materials with confidence.

Participants will learn essential graphic design principles, such as layout, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy, while exploring Canva's powerful tools and features. Teachers will design posters, presentations, worksheets, and other classroom resources they can immediately implement.

This session empowers teachers to work more efficiently, elevate the look of their materials, and use Canva to its fullest potential. Laptops are optional.

Crime Scene Investigation
This workshop is open only to high school educators.

Join us in this workshop where you will learn how to conduct real crime scene investigations and immerse yourself in hands-on activities! This workshop will take place at the CCC Hornady Crime House on the Grand Island Campus. You will have the opportunity to participate in activities such as fingerprinting, mold casting, and flying drones.

Additionally, we may have the chance to tour the Grand Island Police Department's Evidence Lab. A local investigator will join us to discuss actual crime scene investigations and share experiences from real-life cases.

Criminal Justice in Action
This workshop is open only to high school educators.

In this workshop, you will have an interactive experience exploring the various aspects of the Criminal Justice System.

We will tour the Hall County Jail (where we will have lunch), ride along with local law enforcement, attend District Court in Grand Island, and travel to the Women's Center in York. We will also explore the CCC Hornady Crime House on the Grand Island Campus.

Transportation will be provided for off-campus activities.

Dress Code for Tours: Casual attire. Please avoid wearing shorts and graphic shirts.
