American Sign Language Level I

These classes teach American Sign Language (ASL) with a strong emphasis on deaf culture. Students will learn through immersive group conversations and interactions. 

Level I: This introductory class focuses on building a foundation in ASL vocabulary and grammar. Perfect for beginners, it provides the essential tools needed to start communicating in ASL.

American Sign Language II

These classes teach American Sign Language (ASL) with a strong emphasis on deaf culture. Students will learn through immersive group conversations and interactions. 

Level II: The advanced class reviews basic words and then quickly progresses to forming sentences and engaging in more complex communications. Ideal for those who have completed Level I or have some prior knowledge of American Sign Language.

Anxiety Camp

A supportive, fun camp designed to help kids understand and manage anxiety. Through games, activities, and simple coping strategies, campers will build confidence, practice mindfulness, and learn skills to handle everyday worries in a safe, encouraging environment.

March Terrarium Workshop with The Vintageleaf Boutique

Join us for a hands-on terrarium-building workshop where you can unleash your creativity and learn the art of creating your own miniature garden. Perfect for beginners and experienced plant enthusiasts alike. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the workshop begins at 6:30 p.m. Join CCC and Grand Island’s own The Vintageleaf Boutique, which has been selling tropical houseplants, helping diagnose plant problems and providing other plant-related services since 2018. Workshops will be held at The Vintageleaf Boutique in Grand Island.

Basic Drawing Techniques

Take this class and learn to draw, starting with the basic shapes, one- and two-point perspective, and continuing with shading. You will learn and practice the basics, then take these skills home for future endeavors in sketching and painting. Supplies needed: a soft lead pencil, eraser and a pad of newsprint or sketchbook paper no smaller than 8.5x11 inches.

Beginning Entomology

Do you have a kid who loves bugs? Join us in Ord to learn about the world of entomology. Beginning entomologists will learn insect identification, collection, preservation and pinning. Students will create their own insect collection to take home.

Beginning Pickleball

Four sessions with our seasoned instructor and pickleball enthusiast, Karen Johnson, and you will be ready to hit the courts with confidence. She will teach you the basic rules, techniques and strategies to get into this fun paddle sport. Bring your own paddle; pickleballs will be supplied.
