Advanced Beekeeping

This class will go further into the details of beekeeping. You will begin to work through the educational and experience aspects of beekeeping. Learn to document your hive and discover marketing ideas that will help promote hive-related products. This 10-month class will be a combination of lecture and hands-on activity in the field and will meet the second Tuesday of the month, February through November 2024. Students are responsible for the purchase of their equipment and beekeeping suit. A veil must worn while working the bees.

This class will explore the world of American whiskey, delving into the history, production, and flavor profiles of bourbon, rye and other American whiskeys.

Archery for Adults Monday
Try a new sport. Whether you have no athletic ability or were a star athlete, you can learn to shoot archery with success in the first 30 minutes. This class is for adults 18+; all equipment is provided. Don't wait to register, each session has a maximum of nine students. Jeans and closed toe shoes are required to participate.

Barn Quilt Basic Grand Island June
Functional, fun and fantastic. Paint a barn quilt that will last and can be used indoors or out. You will paint on a 2-by-2-foot composite base - no wood. You can choose a traditional geometric design from a pattern board that has 48 options ranging from simple to complex and many color options. Rose Mapel will show you how to dissect a pattern and transfer it to the barn quilt blank. Bring yellow Delicate Frogtape (1.41-inch size), a hairdryer and heavy-duty extension cord.

Beginning Beekeeping 

This hands-on class will introduce you to the skills needed to obtain optimum benefits for your hive. This 10-month class will meet the second Tuesday of the month, February through November 2024. You will learn about the types of bees, bee behaviors and current and best practices based on colony habits, hive designs and the importance of queens and flowers in your area. This will be a mix of lecture and hands-on activities focused around your beehive. Students are responsible for the purchase of their equipment and beekeeping suit. A veil must worn while working the bees.

Children’s Picture Book All Day Combo Grand Island June
Everyone has a story worth telling, and one way to do it is with a children’s picture book. It’s a great way to share stories and lessons with a younger generation. Explore the steps to creating your children’s book, including how to recruit a talented team and use writing prompts to get started. Strengthen your children’s book manuscript and make it more fun and engaging by looking through a child’s eyes. Learn about the publishing process by reviewing the first edits from published manuscripts, understanding the role of editing and exploring the book design process from conception to print. Prerequisite: Author a Children’s Picture Book.

Crafters Retreat Yearlong Bundle
Grab your friends and enjoy monthly interruption-free weekends to finish your crochet, knitting, scrapbooking, quilting or artistic projects. You get space and time to accomplish all of your projects without the hassle of a long drive and the expense of lodging. We will lock the doors when you go home Friday night to keep your items safe. Return bright and early on Saturday and spend the day creating while enjoying and getting inspiration from your fellow crafters. This course will equip you with the skills you need to apply to introductory-level data analyst jobs. In this course, you'll be introduced to the world of data analytics through hands-on curriculum developed by Google. Current Google data analysts will instruct and provide you with hands-on ways to accomplish common data analyst tasks with the best tools and resources.  

GOOGLE DIG MARKET/E-COM-171

This course will equip you with the skills you need to apply to entry-level roles in these fields. In this course, you'll explore entry-level jobs in digital marketing and e-commerce and identify the roles and function that those jobs play within an organization. You'll also learn about the marketing funnel and  how it shapes the customer journey. Google employees who currently work in the field will guide you, providing hands-on activities and examples that simulate common digital and marketing tasks.

Google Docs: One-on-One Training
This class offers individualized training geared towards the creating, editing and sharing of documents with multiple people. Whether you are a beginner or have encountered a roadblock with the process, this class may be of help to you.

This course is to equip you with the skills you need to apply to introductory-level roles in project management. In this course, you'll discover foundational project management terminology and gain a deeper understanding of the role and responsibilities of a project manager. 

GOOGLE UX DESIGN

This course will equip you with the skills needed to apply to entry-level jobs in user experience design. UX designers focus on the interactions that people have with products like websites, mobile apps, and physical objects. Current UX designers and researchers at Google will serve as your instructors, and you will complete hands-on activities that simulate real-world UX design scenarios.
