Certified Central Service Technician Training (Sterile Processing) (WYK-511)

8/5 - 12/4 , TR, 5 - 9pm, Sat, 9am - 1pm, In Person

The central service technician is responsible for the procurement of surgical supplies and equipment.  They are responsible for decontaminating, cleaning, processing, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing the medical devices and supplies needed in patient care, especially during surgery. Students will study theories on disinfection, cleaning and decontamination, infection prevention and control; sterilization processes; regulations and standards; safety; inventory management; and professional communication. Upon completion of the program and 400 internship hours, students will be eligible to sit for the Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) exam through the International Association of Healthcare Sterile Processing (HSPA).  Internship/clinical experience included (hours may vary from course schedule).

Certified Hemodialysis Technician (WYK-502)

9/8 - 12/2, MTWR, 12 - 4pm, In-Person.   *Some Fridays required

This program is designed for those working in or desiring employment as a hemodialysis technician in the healthcare field. Students will study the basic requirement for patient care; renal anatomy and physiology; treatment procedures and processes; water treatment; dialyzer reprocessing; ethics and laws governing medical care; and the effect of nutrition and medication on the patient. Students will also be exposed to the equipment and environment used for renal dialysis. Students must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) exam through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC). This program includes 200 hours of classroom lecture and a clinical internship opportunity at a local healthcare provider.

DATE CHANGE** 9/8 - 11/12, MW, 5 -9pm, In-Person      Financial Assistance Available (SEED+) Sleep technologists assist in the clinical assessment, testing, diagnosis, management, and prevention of sleep-related disorders. Sleep technologists are allied health professionals who may work in sleep disorder centers, sleep specialty clinics, Durable Medical Equipment (DME) settings, and corporate, academic, and research settings. Our Sleep Technician program is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine’s (AASM) Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program (A-STEP). This course, plus the included exam and online self-study modules, meets “Pathway 3” eligibility criteria to sit for the Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) exam administered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).
