Medical Coding Specialist (WYK-515)

This 410-hour course will prepare students to perform the duties required by an out-patient coder and for the National Certification exam. Students will be
introduced to anatomy/terminology, physiology, pharmacology, ICD, CPT, HCPCS, and major nationwide medical insurance programs. Upon successful completion of the course, students will sit for the Certified Coding Specialist Physician-based (CCS-P) Examination and a one-year student membership to AHIMA. Prerequisite: Attendance at an information session.
