PFAS Treatment for Drinking Water & Wastewater Operators (EYI-240)

This course will present various treatment technologies to sample, test for, and reduce PFAS in drinking water and wastewater. Some of the topics addressed include a history and background on the sources and locations of PFAS; how Drinking Water and Wastewater Facilities can conduct sampling & testing for PFAS, including special considerations for collecting PFAS samples, and how to remove PFAS and monitor treatment systems to prevent breakthrough. Issues about how to ultimately dispose of filtrate, and updated information on Federal and State Advisories, programs and pending regulations will also be presented. The course will touch on potential issues with PFAS in the National Pre-treatment Program and also in wastewater biosolids.
