Learn the necessary protocol for inspecting onsite wastewater treatment systems. The course prepares students for the Delaware Class H license examination and provides the necessary guidelines for performing an effective and regulatory onsite system inspection. It also provides students with important information on inspecting alternative onsite systems and completion of state inspection reports.

This course is intended to prepare water and wastewater operators for the math portions of the State licensing exams.

This course will present various treatment technologies to sample, test for, and reduce PFAS in drinking water and wastewater. Some of the topics addressed include a history and background on the sources and locations of PFAS; how Drinking Water and Wastewater Facilities can conduct sampling & testing for PFAS, including special considerations for collecting PFAS samples, and how to remove PFAS and monitor treatment systems to prevent breakthrough. Issues about how to ultimately dispose of filtrate, and updated information on Federal and State Advisories, programs and pending regulations will also be presented. The course will touch on potential issues with PFAS in the National Pre-treatment Program and also in wastewater biosolids.

Both conventional and alternative treatments will be explored. This self-paced course will provide instruction and practice in solving typical operational and mathematical problems associated with these treatment functions.
