Class will meet from 8 am – 4pm Tuesday

In this course we will learn the difference between AC and DC by introducing Inductance into a circuit. We will define an inductor and the role it plays in AC circuits. Transition into 3 phase power, how it is generated and why we use it. Learn different 3 phase load configurations, as well as the role of transformers in AC and how they step up or down the voltage. Students are encouraged to bring their own electrical meter.

Earn your Class B CDL to operate vehicles like dump trucks and straight trucks in as little as 2–3 weeks.

•    Hands-On Training: Road and range instruction with experienced instructors.
•    CDL Testing: Iowa DOT-certified exam included.
Completion Time: 2–3 weeks, with early testing available.

This class meets on Monday from 10:00am-6:30pm. The Iowa Driver Improvement (DIP) will examine attitudes and behavior in relation to driving. It will focus on teaching drivers how their behind the wheel attitude affects their driving behavior. Its purpose is to give participants an opportunity to reflect on their driving behavior and make a commitment to positively alter their daily driving experience. Please note, cancellations must follow IWCC Policy. If not followed, a rescheduling fee will be applied.  

Class will meet from 8 am – 4pm Tuesday

This course will combine industrial controls symbols and diagrams with hands-on wiring. Students will learn how to interpret wiring diagrams by wiring circuits. Circuits include a latching relay, forward motor starter, and forward/reversing motor starter along with the 3-phase component. Students are encouraged to bring small terminal screw drivers, wire strippers, wire cutters, and an electrical meter.

The program begins with a friendly orientation that includes paperwork and placement testing in reading and math. There is a $10 registration fee. Our experienced instructors offer supportive, hands-on instruction in math, writing, reading, science, and social studies to help you build the skills and confidence needed to pass the HiSET exams.
