Classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Iowa Western Campus in Clarinda, Iowa. Attendance on the first two days of class is required for enrollment.

The program begins with a welcoming orientation that includes completing paperwork and placement testing in reading and math. Our skilled instructors provide personalized, engaging instruction in math, writing, reading, science, and social studies to help you gain the skills and confidence needed to succeed on the HiSET exams. Earn your Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and prepare for a rewarding career operating vehicles such as dump trucks, straight trucks, concrete mixers, delivery trucks, and other Class B commercial vehicles. Our accelerated training program provides the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to become a safe and confident commercial driver.
Schedule: Monday – Thursday | 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Program Highlights: Online Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT): Complete required theory training through a flexible online format. Hands-On Driving Instruction: Receive personalized road and range training from experienced CDL instructors. CDL Skills Testing Included: Complete your Iowa DOT-certified CDL examination on-site. Important: Students must obtain a Class B Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) from their local DMV before the first day of class.

November 10 from 10am-6:30pm 
Clarinda Campus
This class meets from 10:00am-6:30pm. The Iowa Driver Improvement (DIP) will examine attitudes and behavior in relation to driving. It will focus on teaching drivers how their behind the wheel attitude affects their driving behavior. Its purpose is to give participants an opportunity to reflect on their driving behavior and make a commitment to positively alter their daily driving experience. Please note, cancellations must follow IWCC Policy. If not followed, a rescheduling fee will be applied.   

EMT at the Clarinda Campus- 923 East Washington Street in Opitz Hall
8/17/26-12/03/26 6:00pm-10:00pm on Mondays and Thursdays. 
EMT course emphasizes the development of student skills within a patient assessment-based program, recognition of signs and symptoms regarding illness or injury and proper procedures when rendering emergency care to the sick or injured. Students will also be required to complete 36 hours of field internship and 24 hours of ER internship. Students need to obtain there BLS provider card before class starts.

October 13 & 14, 2026, 10:00am-4:30pm

This class meets on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00am-4:30pm. This class is for those that were arrested for an OWI over the age of 18. Class is designed to help each person reduce risk for any type of alcohol or drug problem by helping them understand and accept the need to make necessary changes to reduce the risk for future problems. The class meets state requirements under sections 321J.2 and 321J.17, Subsection 2, and is open to anyone wishing to better understand their problem. Students with limited English proficiency must provide their own interpreter.  

February 2 & 3, 2027, 10:00am-4:30pm

August 20, 2026- July 28, 2027. Clarinda Campus - 705 East Washington Street in Opitz Hall.
The class will be held on Thursdays in person from 9:00am-4:00pm in Opitz Hall.
Paramedic course enhances the skills of current EMTs to become naturally registered paramedics. Along with course work students will complete internship time and a capstone experience to be able to complete the course and sit for National Registry. Students will also gain certification in ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS.
BLS provider card will need to be obtained be for the start of class.
