This program includes both classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training. Classroom portions of the class are online through a platform called Safer Driver’s Solution. Andy Nelson is the classroom instructor. There will be 6 driving times. An email will be sent to you the day before the start date of the class, explaining in detail about the online course and how to schedule the driving times. Students must meet attendance requirements, pass a written exam, and demonstrate proficiency during practical driving tests to successfully complete the course.

After completing the online course students have 45 days to complete 6 drives with the BTW instructor.

Monday, Oct. 20, 2025.  9:00 a.m. –  5:00 PM  The Iowa Driver Improvement (DIP) will examine attitudes and behavior in relation to driving. It will focus on teaching drivers how their, behind the wheel attitude affects their driving behavior. Its purpose is to give participants an opportunity to reflect on their driving behavior and make a commitment to positively alter their daily driving experience. Please note that cancellations must follow IWCC policy.  If not followed, a rescheduling fee will be applied.  Fee: $125.00 Held at the IWCC Center in Clarinda, IA. ICN Room.  Instructor:  Kent Keller

Oct. 6th & 7th, 2025  9am-3pm both days

This class is for those that were arrested for an OWI over the age of 18. Class is designed to help each person reduce risk for any type of alcohol or drug problem by helping them understand and accept the need to make necessary changes to reduce the risk for future problems. The class meets state requirements under sections 321.J.2 and 321.J.17., Subsection 2, and is open to anyone wishing to better understand their problems. Students with limited English proficiency must provide their own interpreter.  Fee $180.00  ICN Room at the IWCC  Center in Clarinda, IA.
