The Senior Scholar program is funded by the Union County Board of County Commissioners. These complimentary courses are available to Union County residents who are 60+ years old. Early enrollment is encouraged due to limited class availability. Please note: classes with a fee are NOT part of the Senior Scholar program.

BLS for Healthcare Providers - AHA (AEHL-962)

This program combines discussion, video, and hands-on training for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out of-hospital settings. This course covers how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, children, and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over. Topics include: Primary assessment, ventilations, (Including use of CPR breathing barriers and use of BVMs, choking (Including conscious and unconscious), CPR (one and two rescuers), and AED. Certificate

Certified Bookkeeper (AEBU-005)

The American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) has established a professional certification, the Certified Bookkeeper (CB) credential, a high professional standard for bookkeepers. By successfully passing tests in six subjects, signing a written code of ethics, and demonstrating two years’ work experience as a bookkeeper, you can earn the right to put “CB” after your name.  This course focuses on preparing you for the National Certified Bookkeeper examination by helping you master the skills and knowledge required for certification.
