The Senior Scholar program is funded by the Union County Board of County Commissioners. These complimentary courses are available to Union County residents who are 60+ years old. Early enrollment is encouraged due to limited class availability. Please note: classes with a fee are NOT part of the Senior Scholar program.

This introductory course serves as your gateway to mastering the foundations of this transformative technology.

Course highlights:

Learn how to create accounts and compare/contrast AI tools. 

The impact of AI on work – review prompt structures, create and edit scenarios.

Work-based applications of prompt engineering – explore ChatGPT, Gemini and CoPilot – conduct research, brainstorm and innovate, and personally tailor your tools to your work environment. 

Image and video generation – explore generators and the role they will play in the future landscape.

Introduction to the Entertainment Industry provides foundational knowledge about the different stages of production, job opportunities, and professional expectations in film and television. Students will learn industry-specific terminology and processes related to above- and below-the-line positions, how a creative project moves from script to screen, and how to start and build a film or television career. With an emphasis on industry standards, practices and procedures, on-set safety protocols, and the realities of the job market, students will be best prepared to advance to the next level of training and start their careers in the industry.
