The Senior Scholar program is funded by the Union County Board of County Commissioners. These complimentary courses are available to Union County residents who are 60+ years old. Early enrollment is encouraged due to limited class availability. Please note: classes with a fee are NOT part of the Senior Scholar program.

Students interested in starting or advancing their IT career. You should have basic knowledge of computers and networking, and at least an eighth-grade reading, writing, and math proficiency level. If you do not have basic computer skills it is suggested that you enroll in A+ Essentials class prior to taking the CCNA program.

Chair/Barre for Seniors 60+ (AEES-536)

Chair/Barre For Seniors 60+

This class is based on principles of Stretch and Pilates, seated with a chair or on the floor as well as standing with the barre or chair. Students will learn different stretches and movements using therabands, beginning with the shoulders down to the feet. Students will move to the floor to strengthen their core, back and feet. Students will also work on balance and stability. There will be constant feedback during class and a five-minute question and answer period at the end of each session.

Prepare to work as a Construction Official. The Construction Official is the chief administrator of a local code enforcing agency who establishes and enforces the agency policies to assure compliance with the Uninform Construction Code.
