The Surveyor Certificate Technician Level 1 program is offered through UVI CELL and Cincinnati State and enrollment is available through a scholarship application.

Students are required to take the UVI placement exam to demonstrate college-ready academic proficiency. Students will earn 32 credit hours, OSHA 10 certification, and eligibility for the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) Technician Level I certification exam. Certificate credits are transferrable into Cincinnati State’s Associate of Applied Science degree in Surveying and Mapping and Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Land Surveying.                                                

This certification prepares students for entry-level careers in land surveying and geospatial technology through a focused sequence of courses. Students will gain skills in College Algebra, Trigonometry, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), land information modeling, and construction layout. The curriculum covers surveying fundamentals, USVI Survey History, and architectural drafting. The program concludes with a supervised field experience, where students will apply classroom knowledge to real-world tasks such as site measurements, data collection, and equipment use.
