**Class Drop Policy: Drops for workshops must be completed before the first day of class. A student who registers for a workshop and fails to attend will not be refunded. If you would like to withdraw from a workshop please sign into your student portal, submit a request, and “Withdrawal from program.” All Withdrawals will be reviewed for processing and refunds may take between 5-15 business days  

Advanced STEM/STEAM focuses on developing and building hands-on projects using Fab Lab skills and a variety of advanced manufacturing equipment. This workshop meets approximately twice a month over a six-month period. While occasional scheduling conflicts may arise, they will be addressed as needed.

Projects will culminate around the County Fair, allowing participants the opportunity to enter their work.

The workshop will be conducted by John Zehren in Room 117A at the iMET Center. Participants are encouraged to bring a flash drive; no additional materials are required. Parents are welcome to attend with their children.

Open to students in 6th grade and up

This course is designed for civilians who wish to meet the training requirements to obtain a concealed carry license.  This course meets the training requirement specified in Wisconsin Statute 175.60(4).

In this course, participants apply intermediate cosmetology skills to prepare for the Wisconsin cosmetologist practitioner examination. They practice hairstyling methods such as curling,  perming, and relaxing while following state-aligned safety standards. Participants apply infection control principles, including bloodborne pathogen prevention through proper client setup and professional sanitation procedures. They refine haircutting, chemical services, and nail care skills using exam-style scenarios and instructor coaching. Upon completion of the course, participants will apply safe cosmetology techniques and sanitation practices that meet Wisconsin exam and regulatory requirements.

**Please bring your own haircutting & styling tools and manniquin head.

Gentle Hair Care Practices for Children      

In this course, participants explore the basics of natural hair care for children. They practice gentle detangling techniques. Participants apply simple wash day routines that nurture healthy hair and promote comfort. They identify signs of scalp sensitivity and use gentle methods that reduce discomfort. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to apply foundational hair care skills to support healthy, joyful hair experiences for children.

The second half of the course (623-498) will cover the Analyze, Improve, and Control elements of the DMAIC Process with report outs of individual workplace improvement projects.

Corequisite: You must be registered in both the Part A (623-497) and Part B (623-498) courses to participate.

Participants will apply powerful problem solving tools and basic statistical techniques necessary for the Black Belt to lead strategic implementation of lean six sigma practices in the organization, as well as train and mentor black belts and green belts. This course blends on-line instruction with online modules and a work project with 6 hours of individual coaching.
