In this course, participants apply safe practices on knee mills and engine lathes while setting up
and executing basic cuts. They select tools and materials, set workholding, and zero references
for turning, facing, drilling, and milling. Participants plan and machine a standard project
or a personal piece during open shop time. They inspect parts with calipers and gauges and refine
setups for fit and finish. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to set up,
operate, and troubleshoot manual mills and lathes for simple, accurate parts.
