This introductory course offers basic accounting knowledge for an entry level position in accounting.  It addresses accounting terminology, revenue, expenses, net income, the accounting equation, debits, credits, and balancing the accounting formula, the accounting structure and the accounting cycle. 

This course covers the general concepts and principals of accounting designed to develop an understanding of the accounting cycle.  Concentration will be on preparation and understanding of the financial statements. Topics covered include uses of accounting information and the financial statement, measuring basic transaction, completing the accounting cycle, how to read annual reports and internal audit.

In this course, students are exposed to demand planning, stock control, and Supply Chain Management (SCM). They analyze the principles used in demand planning and the role of professionals entrusted with this task.

This course provides a comprehensive overview of employment law in The Bahamas, covering essential topics including employee rights and benefits, employer obligations, employment contracts, anti-discrimination protections, termination of employment, industrial relations and emerging issues in employment law. Students will explore key Bahamian labour legislation, along with related regulations and standards. Through case studies, and critical discussions, participants will gain valuable insights for navigating and addressing contemporary challenges within the Bahamian workforce and promoting compliance, fairness, and inclusivity in the workplace.

This course is designed to provide both theoretical and practical information that will enable students to coordinate events and also set up an event planning business. Topics covered include the role of event planner, steps in planning an event, planning details of an event, developing an event budget, planning and executing special events and starting an event planning business.

This course examines the basic human resource management functions and the utilization of human resources to achieve organizational objectives. An examination of the dynamics of the human resource management environment and particularly, the external and internal factors that can influence and which now confronts human resource management.

This course will provide learners with specific tools from Microsoft Word, Excel and Canva, which will help them to effectively streamline business processes, enhance productivity, and improve communication in a professional context. The course will mix theoretical instruction with practical applications to ensure participants can integrate the skills into their daily business activities.
