Akamai Network Engineering

In this program, students will build and secure a Linux virtual machine using virtualization technology. They will also create complex networks using Cisco Packet Tracer, implementing routing, NAT, port forwarding, DHCP, DNS, and packet sniffers.  

Students will also design a relational database to contain customer data and security incidents and create queries to analyze the data. Then, after creating 4 Python applications from scratch: an age calculator, a word guessing game, a lemonade stand game, and a text-based adventure game, students will create the code to connect a web site to the database to authenticate users and provide user-specific content to users after login.

 

The Certified Manufacturing Associate is a nationally recognized industry certification offered through the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) This certification focuses on basic manufacturing concepts, demonstrating an individual’s potential for high-demand, entry-level manufacturing roles. The program covers fundamental topics such as shop math, assembly, maintenance, machining, inspection, and successful completion demonstrates that the individual has basic knowledge of manufacturing and may be an ideal candidate for entry-level manufacturing employment. IBM Date Warehouse Engineer

Date warehouse engineers design and build large databases called data warehouses, used for data and business analytics. They work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and project management to power analysis that enable insights and inform decision making.

In this program you'll learn the latest tools used by professional data warehouse engineers including Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), PostgreSQL, and MySQL.  Alongside these tools, learn how to use Linux/UNIX shell scripts to automate repetitive tasks and build data pipelines and Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) data.  You'll also work with data warehouses and query them using SQL and BI tools.
