The ACT is a standardized test used for college admissions.  This course will help students identify their strengths and weaknesses in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science, and will prepare them for taking the test.  Students will need to purchase The Official ACT Prep Guide 2025-2026, Wiley, and bring it with them to class.  Students will also need to bring paper and pen/pencil for note-taking and an approved calculator.  You will find the approved calculators at the following website:  https://www.act.org/calculator-policy.html.  Students will have one hour for lunch, time is approximate (12:00-1:00).  They can either bring their lunch or may leave campus if they prefer.

An introduction to American Sign Language (ASL) which includes the development of receptive and expressive skills in authentic situations and an introduction to Deaf culture.  This introductory course in ASL uses a natural language approach to introduce culturally appropriate signed concepts related to the immediate environment.  Common communicative events and interactions are utilized to acquire a basic working vocabulary and grammar.  The course includes the development of appropriate linguistic/cultural behaviors and awareness of respect for Deaf culture.  Receptive and expressive skills are fostered through interactive ASL lessons without voice.

This course is designed to meet the requirements of the Tulsa Food Code. Each food service establishment must have personnel who are certified in food safety. This certification ensures that foodservice supervisory personnel possess safe techniques knowledge for all areas of foodservice. The ServSafe exam is nationally recognized by ANSI-CFP and certification is good for five years. A legal and valid picture ID must be presented before the exam. Tests are available in several languages: English, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Modern Chinese, and must be requested at the time of enrollment. The study guide and test are included with registration.
