The ACT is a standardized test used for college admissions.  This course will help students identify their strengths and weaknesses in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science, and will prepare them for taking the test.  Students will need to purchase The Official ACT Prep Guide 2026-2027, Wiley, and bring it with them to class.  Students will also need to bring paper and pen/pencil for note-taking and an approved calculator.  You will find the approved calculators at the following website:  https://www.act.org/calculator-policy.html.  Students will have one hour for lunch, time is approximate (12:00-1:00).  They can either bring their lunch or may leave campus if they prefer.

This non-credit course will address the following six topics: reading (with a focus on reading reflections), creative thinking, social engagement and college campus skills, hands-on interactive in class assignments focused on “money math and an array of life skills that include problem- solving, communication, and self awareness.
