Learn to cut, rivet, stitch, edge and paint leather gear. Each student will finish a small leather coin pouch with a snap to take home.

Student Supplies
Please bring the following items to class:

  • Pencil
  • Paper
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • $6 materials fee

The $6 materials fee will be used to purchase the leather hide needed for the project, along with other required materials, including:

  • Leather hide (2–3 oz. vegetable-tanned double shoulder)
  • Snaps
  • Rivets
  • Setting tools

Equipment Recommendation
A craft knife (X-Acto knife) or rotary cutter is recommended for leatherworking. If Tulsa Community College is able to purchase a class set of these tools, they could be reused for future leatherworking courses.

This course introduces students to the arts and crafts of crochet through hands-on exploration of foundational techniques and creative applications. Students will learn basic crochet skills, including how to hold and use a crochet hook, create foundational stiches, read simple patterns, and complete beginning crochet projects. The course will also explore finger crochet as an alternative technique and examine a variety of materials and fibers that can be incorporated into crochet work. Through guided practice and creative experimentation, students will develop technical skills, confidence, and an understanding of crochet as both a functional craft and an artistic medium.
