Introduction to alternating current electricity. A study of characteristics of sine wave including amplitude, frequency, period, and phase relationships; analyzing AC circuits by use of AC network theorems, resonant circuits, and filter circuits. Includes lab component. 

An introduction to American Sign Language (ASL) which includes the development of receptive and expressive skills in authentic situations and an introduction to Deaf culture.  This introductory course in ASL uses a natural language approach to introduce culturally appropriate signed concepts related to the immediate environment.  Common communicative events and interactions are utilized to acquire a basic working vocabulary and grammar.  The course includes the development of appropriate linguistic/cultural behaviors and awareness of respect for Deaf culture.  Receptive and expressive skills are fostered through interactive ASL lessons without voice.

This is an interdisciplinary course to introduce students to human values through the exploration of American deaf culture through its history, literature, and arts. Students will explore Deaf culture as a minority culture focusing on awareness and understanding of cultural diversity and preservation of language. Culture and relationships are examined through the impact of modern technology and moral trends.

This course is designed for students who have completed Spanish 1 or have basic knowledge of Spanish. It builds on foundational skills, focusing on improving conversational ability, listening comprehension, and reading and writing in everyday contexts. Students will expand their vocabulary, learn more complex sentence structures, and deepen their understanding of Spanish culture. They will be able to ask and answer questions about travel, food, weather, and hobbies, describe past events, and give and follow directions. Ideal for those looking to increase confidence and fluency in real-life situations.

This certification ensures that foodservice supervisory personnel possess safe techniques knowledge for all areas of foodservice. The ServSafe exam is nationally recognized by ANSI-CFP and certification is good for five years. A legal and valid picture ID must be presented before the exam. Tests are available in several languages: English, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Modern Chinese, and must be requested at the time of enrollment. The study guide and test are included with registration.

This course is for those whose Foodservice Manager Certificate has been expired for less than 6 months. The class updates and refreshes about safe food techniques. The ServSafe exam is nationally recognized by ANSI-CFP and certification is good for five years. A legal and valid picture ID must be presented before the exam. Tests are available in several languages: English, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Modern Chinese, and must be requested at the time of enrollment. The study guide and test are included with registration.
