An aid to developing interpreting skills, this course will address consecutive, simultaneous and sight interpretation. It will also cover the interpreter's role in and out of court and include an on-site visit to a courtroom. Oral fluency in English and native/near-native fluency in Spanish is recommended.  

Will include an on-site practical component. 

Students with advanced language experience are encouraged to take the CLEP exam to satisfy prerequisite requirements. Prerequisite: SPAN 2443 and SPAN 2453 with a grade of "C" or better or instructor approval.

An evening of crafting and design. Learn how to prepare fabric, thread, and needles to embroider a pattern, then create a small work of embroidered art that can be used as a greeting card, patch, or bookmark.

Supplies students will need to bring for this class:

Materials provided by the instructor:

  • Linen fabric

This course introduces students to the arts and crafts of crochet through hands-on exploration of foundational techniques and creative applications. Students will learn basic crochet skills, including how to hold and use a crochet hook, create foundational stiches, read simple patterns, and complete beginning crochet projects. The course will also explore finger crochet as an alternative technique and examine a variety of materials and fibers that can be incorporated into crochet work. Through guided practice and creative experimentation, students will develop technical skills, confidence, and an understanding of crochet as both a functional craft and an artistic medium. 
 

Supplies you will need to purchase for this class: 


  - Skein of yarn
  - Crochet hook
  - Scissors
  - Plastic craft needle
  - Walmart/plastic bags at least 3 or more
