CPR-Basic Life Support (BLS) is the foundational emergency cardiovascular care course for all healthcare professionals and first responders, designed to improve patient outcomes. This American Heart Association (AHA) course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for use in pre-hospital and in-facility settings. BLS Provider status exceeds the requirements for CPR (C) or CPR Healthcare Provider (HCP), unless otherwise stated.

An aid to developing interpreting skills, this course will address consecutive, simultaneous and sight interpretation. It will also cover the interpreter's role in and out of court and include an on-site visit to a courtroom. Oral fluency in English and native/near-native fluency in Spanish is recommended.
Will include an on-site practical component.
Students with advanced language experience are encouraged to take the CLEP exam to satisfy prerequisite requirements. Prerequisite: SPAN 2443 and SPAN 2453 with a grade of "C" or better or instructor approval.

This course is designed for students who have completed Spanish 1 or have basic knowledge of Spanish. It builds on foundational skills, focusing on improving conversational ability, listening comprehension, and reading and writing in everyday contexts. Students will expand their vocabulary, learn more complex sentence structures, and deepen their understanding of Spanish culture. They will be able to ask and answer questions about travel, food, weather, and hobbies, describe past events, and give and follow directions. Ideal for those looking to increase confidence and fluency in real-life situations.
